Ash Wednesday (February 26)

Begin the Lenten season by attending one of our reflective Ash Wednesday services. Each services includes Eucharist and the imposition of ashes.

Lenten Retreat (March 14)

Dr. Garwood Anderson, President, Provost, and New Testatment professor at Nashotah House Theological Seminary will be leading our yearly Lenten Retreat entitled: PEACE THAT PASSES UNDERSTANDING: REFLECTIONS FROM ST. PAUL. Join us for an exploration of this pervasive, sublime, and elusive theme, forged in conflict, from the letters of the great Apostle. More information and registration.

Holy Week (April 5-11)

Holy Week is the annual reflection on the events and meaning of the last week of Jesus' earthly life and ministry.

Palm Sunday (April 5)

Palm Sunday commemorates Jesus' entrance into Jerusalem. From John chapter 12: So they took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, shouting, "Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord"

Maundy Thursday (April 9)

The word Maundy comes from the Latin mandatum meaning "mandate" or "command". On that Thursday, after the Last Supper, Jesus said this to his disciples: I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. (from John 13) This service includes Holy Communion.

Good Friday (April 10)

- Good Friday Services

On that Friday - after his arrest, trial, and condemnation - Jesus was put to death upon on a cross. It is the central historical event of the Christian faith and the cross has become Christianity's most enduring symbol.

- Children's Passion Play & Egg Hunt

The Passion Event is a dramatic retelling of Holy Week in interactive, journey style! Walk with Jesus and the Disciples, break bread with them, witness Peter's denial, grieve over Christ's death on the cross, and find joy in Jesus' resurrection on the first Easter morning. Egg hunt for children birth through 5th grade will follow. Please bring a basket for egg collection.

- Stations of the Cross

Reflect on 14 different Good Friday scenes; from Jesus' condemnation before Pontius Pilate to his body being laid in the tomb. This traditional journey will encourage you to remember and enter into the experience of Jesus' suffering and death.

Holy Saturday (April 11)

In Christian Baptism, one is connected to Jesus' death and resurrection. Fittingly, our Holy Saturday service will celebrate the sacrament of Baptism with those presenting themselves as candidates.

Easter Day (April 12)

On the first day of the week, Jesus rose from the dead. Paul said this in 1 Corinthians 15: For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures
