COMMUNION at st marks
All baptized Christians who know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are welcome to the Communion table. Scripture assures us that God forgives and welcomes all who come to him in repentance and faith (1 John 1:19).
To receive communion, kneel or stand at the altar railing and hold out your hands, palms up, one hand over the other. The sealed bread and wine will be placed in your hand. First take the bread, then take the wine, and place the chalice in the receptacle provided.
Children are welcome to receive communion. If you prefer, they may receive a blessing rather than communion.
To receive a blessing rather than communion, please cross your arms over your chest.
For those who are unable to attend regular services, clergy or lay eucharistic ministers will deliver to your doorstep a copy of the Service for Communion Under Special Circumstances prayer book service, along with sealed consecrated wafers for you/your household. To all those who ask, we will attempt to deliver on Sunday morning between 8:00 am and 11:00 am. Illinois only. Fill out the following form to receive communion at home.
