Serve Globally

Serving Around the World

One of the most important ways that St. Mark’s participates in Christ’s mission is by generously supporting global Anglican efforts, cross-cultural ministers, and effective Christian organizations who share the Good news of God’s love around the world.

We try to engage by:

  • Praying
  • Giving
  • Serving
  • Becoming

“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” - James 5:16b (NRSV). Praying regularly for our global partners is a tangible way to participate in their important work. See our list of partners below and read more about their organizations.  If you would like additional information please email Bob Wright, chairman of the Mission Commission at .  If you would like a prayer bookmark for one or all of our partners please visit the Information counter.

As an active participant in the worldwide growth of the Christian church generally and the Anglican Church specifically, approximately 10% of all general giving at St. Mark’s goes to support our global partners. Therefore we encourage generous giving through our regular tithes and contributions.

We encourage our congregation to engage with our Cross-Cultural workers in creative ways.  The members of the Mission Commission stand ready to meet with individuals or groups to discuss ways to make connections with our Cross-Cultural Workers. CLICK HERE (link coming) to see suggested ways to meet and interact meaningfully with those who partner with our Parish and who work in cross-cultural venues.

Engaging with the task of sharing the Good News of the Gospel with those of another culture can begin simply by becoming informed about other cultures in our own neighborhood.  We can take an additional step toward engaging people in friendship and conversation.  Ultimately God may ask us to travel overseas to work with one of our partners.  Such a journey, however, has numerous steps.  Members of the Mission Commission would love to interact with you or to provide suggestions about how to become more involved.

This seven-person team engages our partners and members of our parish toward a reciprocal relationship of encouragement and prayer.  If you have a heart for this ministry or want to explore how you might serve, please contact Mission Commission chairman Bob Wright  or the church office.
