Baptism unites believers to Jesus Christ forever! At St. Mark's, many of our students are baptized as infants. In infant baptism a child is united to Jesus Christ and his parents assent to raise him in the reality of that truth! Confirmation is the moment when each individual confirms the commitment made on his or her behalf at baptism.
Students (9th grade or older) at St. Mark's have the opportunity to engage faith in Jesus Christ, reveling in the mystery of the Trinity, learning church history, and studying the Nicene Creed, Scripture, and other foundational documents of Christianity. These classes are designed to help students come to a mature decision to follow Christ. To aid students on this journey, they are matched with an adult mentor who walks beside them throughout the confirmation process. In the spring students may choose to be confirmed along with others in the parish at our annual confirmation service.
This year we will be calling the Youth Confirmation a Cornerstone group. Launching on Oct 13th we will be meeting on Sundays from 4:30 - 6:00 with dinner served at 6:00.
