One Sunday this summer we sang, "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" as an a cappella finish to a sermon. Someone worshiping with us via the live stream that day wrote, "I am eternally grateful for the privilege of joining all of you at St Mark's for worship from "my chair." It is a blessing for me as Rector to realize our hearts are connected through worship...whether we are in a pew or in our homes on Sunday mornings.
I am excited about our fall plans. September 11th and 12th includes an open house and dedication of the Larrabee House. The restoration has given us magnificent teaching space for middle schoolers and adults. Come celebrate with us. Meanwhile, our Sunday school children will have a complete experience starting Sunday the 12th (while safely following the CDC guidelines and gubernatorial mandates).
If you have never taken our Alpha Course, this fall is your opportunity enjoy a meal and presentation on Christianity while also meeting other Saint Markers and those from the community. Alpha begins Wednesday night, September 15.
There is so much happening this fall! My invitation is for you to explore the rest of our website and then discern where God would have you "test the waters" in St Mark's Church.
P. S. Our sermons this fall relate around what it means to be truly wise. We preach from Proverbs, Hebrews, and Ruth during September, October, and November.
